Kenny Peters 2017 Demo Reel

I’ve been lucky in the last few years with a few films that came through Austin, especially with 2014/2015 being such productive years for the industry here.  2014 being especially productive with 4 films alone in that 12 months!  “Shilo”, is available on DVD and for streaming on Amazon, “What We Give”, which gave me my first on-screen speaking role, the wonderful “Frontier Freedom” and the documentaries “The Hunger Stat” and “Growing Brilliance.”  The last two films were directed by Wendy Crouse, with the latter winning an International award.  In 2017, I finished another film at the very beginning of January, and was on track for the lead in another sci-fi film where I was happy to supply for the Fundraiser/Kickstarter portion of their mock-up film, but the director decided to replace me with “someone who’s done films that have shown at Sundance.”  Yeah, ’cause that certainly guarantees success.  I’ll be honest, even after the years of being active in the community and for that particular director, agreeing to announce his previous auditions, I walked away from that experience feeling a bit used and bitter toward the local industry.  I felt used in that I sent the Kickstarter page out to several thousand people, and once they reached their goal, suddenly “didn’t need me” anymore.  It was offensive and unprofessional.

I started back to school in 2017 and since that time have not had the ability to dedicate to anything long-term in regards to film or even audition.  I miss acting and plan to do more of it in the future when I’m out of school.

There are a few things not listed there on the imdB page.  The picture from the above film “What We Give” –  that film is not yet listed.

“Sleight Of Hand” (a student film by a pretty well known director now!)

TV work on “Friday Night Lights”

A Chase Bank commercial & a Pepsi commercial 😉

More to come.
